What is the role of the humanities in an increasingly unstable world? How can they protect their autonomy and pave the way for a culture of scholarly creativity? What steps should be taken?

Organized by the Volkswagen Foundation and the German U15 Universities, the “Positioning the Humanities in the 2020s Symposium” in Hanover addresses these questions. Experts from academic institutions from all over the world will exchange their views and ideas and I will be among a group of young scholars who have been invited to present their research and give a lightning talk about re-positioning the humanities.

September 10-12, 2019
Herrenhausen Palace, Hanover, Germany

There is no fee for attending the conference, but you have to register.

Exciting to announce I’ll be participating at the Summer School at the University of Bern on Challenging the Sites of Knowledge. With fabulous keynote speakers and other (post) doctorates, we’ll be exploring collaborations that build bridges between academia, creative expression, and the public sphere.

This is happening from September 3rd – September 7th, 2019
